JUNE HINES

For 2 ½  decades June has committed to teaching students of all ages the work of Joseph Pilates.  A native of Louisiana, June earned her B.F.A. and M.F.A in Dance from the University of Oklahoma.  For 11 years  prior to training in Pilates, June was an Associate Professor of Dance at Mercyhurst College, now Mercyhurst University and Allentown College, now De Sales University.  Certified in 1996 to teach the Pilates method by her mentors Romana Kryzanowska and Sari Mejia Santo, June opened her Rydal studio in 19997 to inspire others in the life changing discipline of Pilates.  June has also trained with Sue Hintzman in the MELT method and is a Level 2 instructor.

June directed The Pilates Studio at The Pennsylvania Ballet from 1997 till 2003, where she balanced the needs of both professional dancers and physical therapy patients.  June has taught Pilates on faculty at The Abington Arts Center (1998-2013), Metropolitan Ballet Academy (2010-2011), and The School of the PA Ballet (2013-2018).  In 2006 June opened a second studio in Doylestown (now located in Hilltown), and in 2016 she opened June Hines Pilates Jenkintown.  Recognized since 2003 as a Senior Teacher Trainer in Romana’s Pilates, a global training organization, June attracts guest teachers from all over the world and has supported the training of instructors through the US as well as her team of Romana’s  Pilates certified teachers.

Greg Elwell has been a student of The Pilates Method since 2000 and earned his certification with Romana’s Pilates in 2010.  He has taught Pilates in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  His love of Pilates stems from its positive impact on his own physical and mental well-being, and he strives for others to find those very benefits.  Greg is an avid hiker and outdoorsman, and loves swimming and playing tennis.  He continues his study of the human body.  Greg received his BA in English Language and Literature from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

GREG ELWELL

Greg Elwell has been a student of The Pilates Method since 2000 and earned his certification with Romana’s Pilates in 2010.  He has taught Pilates in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  His love of Pilates stems from its positive impact on his own physical and mental well-being, and he strives for others to find those very benefits.  Greg is an avid hiker and outdoorsman, and loves swimming and playing tennis.  He continues his study of the human body.  Greg received his BA in English Language and Literature from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

KATY DAWLEY

Katy Dawley began studying Pilates with June Hines at the PA Ballet Performing Arts Physical Therapy studio in 1998 during rehabilitation for a pelvic injury and never looked back.  Katy became a Romana’s Pilates Certified Instructor in 2015.  Previous education includes a BA from Oberlin College in 1964; Masters in Social Work from Boston University in 1968; BS in Nursing 1979, MS in Nursing and Midwifery 1984 and PHD in Nursing and History, 2001 all from the University of PA.   Katy practiced midwifery at Hahnemann Hospital 1985-1998 and directed the Midwifery Education Program, Philadelphia University 2007-2012.

DALE BLUM

Dale Blum is the newest addition to our team becoming a Romana’s Pilates Instructor in 2022.  Loving health, exercise and wellbeing, Dale is also a Certified Independent Health Coach.  She wears many hats as Pharmacy manager and Vice President of the Pharmacy Guild.  Dale graduated from Temple University with a degree in Pharmacy and Psychology.  She participates in many sports and physical endeavors in addition to Pilates including racquetball, karate, bodybuilding and yoga.

SUSAN WILSON

Susan Wilson became a Certified Romana’s Pilates Instructor in 2005.  She currently teaches in her home studio, June Hines Pilates Hilltown and has taught at Pilates of the Lehigh Valley and Anthony Rabara Studio in Princeton.  In 2015 Susan had spinal cord surgery and she most intimately experienced the amazing healing power of Pilates in her recovery.  Susan also is a Managing Partner of New Leadership Distinctions, an executive coaching and leadership development firm.  In addition to her Pilates credentials, she is a Certified Coach with New Venture West and a Certified Enneagram Instructor with the Enneagram institute.  Her corporate experience includes 20 years with Johnson & Johnson Corporation Finance, Information Technology and consulting.  She has a BA in Economics & Business, Lafayette College and is a Certified Management Accountant.  As a lifelong learner she continues to explore the study of mind, heart, body integration and human anatomy.  She also has a strong love for ballroom dancing.

CLARE ELLINWOOD-MULLEN

Clare Ellinwood started her Pilates journey in 2006 taking mat classes and duets on a Gratz Reformer.  She was instantly hooked by the total mind body workout.  Clare came to June Hines Studio as a client in 2011 after the birth of her second son.  The diverse system of exercises and Gratz equipment helped her to overcome many physical obstacles and increased her overall fitness:  mind, body and soul.  In 2017, Clare decided to follow her heart and pursue her Romana's Pilates Teacher certification.  That decision and experience was life changing!  After working in public relations, office management and real estate, Clare embraced a career that would allow her to connect with individuals in an uplifting atmosphere and guide them through their Pilates practice to achieve stronger bodies, relief from pain and deepen their mind-body connection.  Everyday Clare brings joy and passion to her teaching in hopes of sharing with her students the transformative power of Pilates.  Clare manages our Jenkintown studio and has a hand in marketing and event planning for JHP.  Clare grew up in the Southwest and has lived in the Philadelphia area since 1999.  She received her BA from Temple, Magna Cum Laude, with a concentration in Public Relations and Political Science.  She has lived in Glenside with her two boys for over 15 years.

MEGAN EGAN

Megan Egan, was certified through Pilates, Inc. a collaboration between Sean Gallagher and Romana Kryzanowska, in 1999.  Her interest in Pilates began in 1994 as a form of exercise to help her manage her Multiple Sclerosis (diagnosed in 1989).  Megan realized shortly after beginning to learn Pilates it was the best program for her and almost everyone else on the planet to improve their health.  She began the vigorous training program in Atlanta, GA while she was earning her MS in Counseling from Georgia State University and teaching grades 7-12 at a psychiatric hospital and working with AIDS clients.  She also earned a BS in business from Drexel University (1984) and a Masters degree in Education (EdM – 1989) from Temple University.  When Megan returned to the Philadelphia area in 1998 she continued her training with June Hines at the PA Ballet, Romana Kryzanowska and Sean Gallagher in NYC.  From 2000 till 2004 she was the Director of the Pilates Studio of New York in Bryn Mawr, PA.  In the years since then, Megan has lived and taught Pilates in various places, most recently with June Hines Pilates in Jenkintown.

JENNIFER DINARDO

Jennifer certified in 2008 with Romana’s Pilates to teach the Pilates Method.  Jennifer is a registered nurse earning a B.S.N. degree from Temple University.  She specialized in Cardiology & Interventional Radiology.  Jennifer was also a Dance minor at Temple University.  She began Pilates to strengthen her knees.  Jennifer is raising her 4 children in Newtown, PA and is also a Real Estate Agent.
